Launch of Urban Food subsidy

This programme is set to commence during this financial year (2011/2012)

The overall objective of the Urban Food Subsidy Programme is to protect vulnerable and poor households in urban areas from the negative impacts of food insecurity

This programme will be implemented in Mombasa County in February to cover 10,000 urban poor households (countrywide?).

A total of KES 198 million has been allocated for implementation of the programme in the current financial year (2011/2012).
