Key Decisions and Agreements Reached at the Conclusion of Joint Review Mission

As the recently concluded Mid-Term Review for the National Safety Net Programme for Results (NSNP) and an implementation support mission for the Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CT-OVC) drew to a close, participants notably reached milestone decisions and agreements, critical to reinforcing successful implementation of NSNP programme. The exercise took place between 12 and 26 February 2016.

Some of the key agreements and decisions reached touch on critical issues of implementation, including, procedure for handling households with multiple vulnerabilities, methodology for harmonized targeting, approach for handling households still registered as beneficiaries of Urban Food Subsidy Cash Transfer( UFS-CT), even though this program ceased in 2014, collaboration with the National Registration Board (NRB) to ensure eligible beneficiaries are registered and issued with National Identity cards in priority sub locations and solutions to offer beneficiaries a choice of different payment providers in the future.

Best Practices for improving quality of delivery of NSNP services from now up to the end of the programme (2017) and beyond and possible actions based on the broad thematic areas of Targeting, Payments, MIS, C&G, M&E, Communication, Structures and Procurement was discussed. 
